SawStop Brake Cartridge for 254mm/10″ Blades

A lightning-fast microprocessor constantly monitors the electrical signal in the blade and triggers the safety system within 5 milliseconds if skin contact is detected. The brake cartridge connects to the saw via an RS232 interface, acting as the communication link between the microprocessor and the blade.

The integrated Mylar debris shield protects the aluminium brake from conductive debris, helping to reduce the risk of unintended activations when cutting material containing nails, staples, or screws. When triggered, a heavy-duty spring—held under 68 kg of pressure—forces the aluminium block into the blade, stopping it in milliseconds.

It is recommended to keep a spare brake cartridge on hand in the event of an activation. Replacement is quick and straightforward—fit a new cartridge and blade, and you’re ready to get back to work with minimal downtime.
