Compatibility
StopLossBags Original bags are suitable for oil-based liquids, water-based liquids, and alcohol-based liquids. They may be used with paints, stains, varnishes, mineral spirits, darkroom chemicals, non-consumable water, shampoo, and similar products.
Do not use with liquids containing acetone, benzene, lacquer, lacquer thinner, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), toluene, xylene, isobutanol alcohol, ethyl alcohol, or ethanol. Some paint thinners may contain one or more of these solvents.
For bags previously used with fine finishes, cleaning with white spirits is recommended.
Filling Your StopLossBags
The supplied collapsible funnel allows finishes to be transferred from a standard litre can to a StopLossBag pouch in a single, controlled step. The wide end stretches securely over the can opening, while the narrow end fits the bag’s spout.
Before attaching the funnel, inflate the bag slightly with air to allow smooth transfer and prevent back pressure. The funnel is easy to clean — dried finishes peel away after resting upside down overnight on a folded paper towel. Thin oil finishes may require solvent cleaning.
